A vintage Anchor Hocking clear pressed glass diamond pattern
Anchor Hocking is one of the most prominent American glassware manufacturers, known for producing durable and aesthetically pleasing pressed glass. Their 'Early American' style lines were designed to mimic the look of expensive hand-cut crystal while remaining affordable for the average household. These pieces became staples in mid-century American dining rooms and kitchens. Pressed glass is created by pouring molten glass into a mold and using a plunger to force the glass into the intricate patterns. The diamond and starburst motifs seen here were popular design elements that helped diffuse light and hide small scratches. Because they were produced in such vast quantities, these bowls are widely available today in vintage shops and estate sales.
